Pinkie, our evening shift clerk, is going to the hospital Thursday and having her surgery Friday. I start off with a warm-up 10 hr shift Thursday night then who know’s how long we’ll be there Friday night. Sunday night starts the 12s. I’ll be working from 3pm-3am.
Pentacost 10
24 07 2005O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
O worship the King,
all glorious above!
O gratefully sing
his power and his love!
Our shield and defender,
the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor,
and girded with praise.
O tell of his might!
O sing of his grace!
Whose robe is the light,
whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath
the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path
on the wings of the storm.
The earth, with its store
of wonders untold,
Almighty, thy power
hath founded of old,
hath ’stablished it fast
by a changeless decree,
and round it hath cast,
like a mantle, the sea.
Thy bountiful care,
what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air;
it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills,
it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills
in the dew and the rain.
Frail children of dust,
and feeble as frail,
in thee do we trust,
nor find thee to fail;
thy mercies, how tender!
How firm to the end!
Our Maker, Defender,
Redeemer, and Friend!
O measureless Might,
ineffable Love,
while angels delight
to worship thee above,
the humbler creation,
though feeble their lays,
with true adoration
shall all sing thy praise.

I know…boring right?
20 07 2005Yeah yeah yeah I know it’s been a long time since i’ve really blogged something of value so hear it all is.
I’ve been busy (duh!). I work 4 twelves over the last 2 weeks and will have to do another one Friday night. Yeah, that’s how a I really wanna spend my usually off Friday night. Oh well. SHOW ME THE MONEY! I’ll be having to work 12s next month too. One of our clerks will be out b/c of medical reasons for up to 6 weeks. I asked the other clerk that has worked there since for the last 6 or 7 years if the superintendent would get somebody to fill in or would we work 12s. “We’ll just work 12s.” WOOHOOO!!!! I hate working so much even though the money’s good. I’d rather have a life and time with family and friends than the dough. We’ll have to see how it all goes.
Speaking of work, we had a fire there last night. It was in a part of production called MDP right next to my office. I heard something through the wall like they were dropping some stuff or something and next thing I know 3 of the guys are running past my office yelling “fire! fire!” I ran in there to check on everybody else. They were all getting out of there. I saw sparks falling down from the ceiling! One of the loaders pulled the fire alarm and everybody in the plant had to head outside. We were out there for a good hour. They ended up letting off first processing, and the word was that USDA wanted the whole plant resanitized (they do that every night before my shift comes in anyway) before production got back up and running. So even if we weren’t working Saturday we probably are now!
Church is going good. I overslept this last Sunday and ended up going to Knox. Had a good time at lunch with everybody. Went to see Adrienne and Lexie. She’s so precious! Those pictures don’t do the poor girl justice.
I think I’m done with the GEC website. All the other pages look like that one with the info in the main box changed. Boring huh? But it looks nice, or at least I think so.
Well I’ll try to keep updating my life story on here a little more often. I guess I was on an unannounced “gone garver.” But hopefully I’m back now.

Pentacost 9
17 07 2005Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Pentacost 8
10 07 2005O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Bread of the world, in mercy broken,
Wine of the soul, in mercy shed,
by whom the words of life were spoken,
and in whose death our sins are dead:
look on the heart by sorrow broken,
look on the tears by sinners shed;
and be thy feast to us the token
that by thy grace our souls are fed.

To the tune of “God Bless America”
3 07 2005I am an Anglican.
I’m C of E.
Neither high church,
Nor low church,
I am Catholic and Protestant and free.
Not a Mormon,
Not a Presby,
Not a Baptist
White with foam,
I am an Anglican,
One step from Rome!
I am an Anglican,
One step from Rome.
I heard this from Beth when we were in LR. I’ve been wanting to put it on my blog ever since then and now especially since she put this up.

Pentacost 9
3 07 2005O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
My country, ’tis of thee,
sweet land of liberty,
of thee I sing;
land where my fathers died,
land of the pilgrim’s pride,
from every mountainside
let freedom ring.
My native country, thee,
land of the noble free,
thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
thy woods and templed hills;
my heart with rapture thrills
like that above.
Let music swell the breeze,
and ring from all the trees
sweet freedom’s song;
let mortal tongues awake,
let all that breathe partake,
let rocks their silence break,
the sound prolong.
Our fathers’ God, to thee,
author of liberty,
to thee we sing;
long may our land be bright
with freedom’s holy light;
protect us by thy might,
great God, our King.
