I went to Cox today and got cable internet. I can now surf the ‘net at top speed!
Colors
26 09 2005Since I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to do with my blog next, I made it “blackish-white” but keeping the Booth girls thought: “Think pink. Wear black.” Scroll over a link, and you’ll see what I mean.

Pentacost 19
25 09 2005O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain
24 09 2005Well. Not really. I’m sure after a day or two of all this rain from Rita, I’ll be ready to scream.
The wind has been making itself known as well. It kept blowing on the scorkt of my trailer, making it move, and waking me up this morning.
On top of everythin, I think I’m sick. What a great day to spend your last day of vacation but trying to nurse yourself back to health so you can get back to work. I’ve been coughing a little bit the last couple of days and yesterday my throat started feeling funny. Today I feel like crap. Oh well.

Old Navy! Old Navy!
22 09 2005Me and Adrienne and Lexie went shopping today and I found out that the new Old Navy in Monroe carries plus sizes. WOW. I was so excited. I never knew they carried plus sizes until now. I went crazy. An hour and over $100 later, I walked out carrying my own Old Navy bag. I love Old Navy.

You are my sunshine
20 09 2005One thing I missed while working from 3-3 is seeing the sun come up. It’s getting late enough in the year that when I leave work shortly after 7am, it’s a beautiful red/orange/yellow fireball. Almost takes my breath away.

Job changes
19 09 2005Within the last 2 weeks, I’ve been offered the opportunity to try for 2 other positions at Pilgrim’s.
The first is with the HACCP office. They work closely with USDA and try to keep us from getting shut down. I probably would still be working nights (graveyards).
The other one I found out about when I was taking a mandatory computer class (a class that I thought I would be bored in the whole time but actually learned some things). It’s for an IT trainer for the company, going around to different plants teaching different computer classes. I’d have to relocate to Rockwall (near Dallas) or Pittsburg (north of Longview) Texas and travel for 50-75% of every month.
There’s something about both of these jobs that I don’t like but the floor experience with HACCP might get me promoted elsewhere and with the training job, I’d be using my degree. Either way it’s a win situation for me. If i don’t get either I’ll just stay right where I’m at and be happy about it.

For those of you who continually lose there keys
19 09 2005Morning Edition, September 19, 2005 – An Illinois man is looking for a lost set of keys. This wouldn’t be a big deal, except that the man is a prison warden, and he lost a master key to the Jacksonville Correctional Center. The warden says he handed 10 keys to another employee April 8. Nobody has seen them since. Officials insist this is not a serious problem. But while searching for the keys, they put the prison on a four-day lockdown. At least they think everything was locked down.

Pentacost 18
18 09 2005Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

There IS a light at the end of the tunnel.
16 09 2005I was beginning to have my doubts. After working over sixty hours a week for the last seven weeks, I will be going to back to my regular shift starting Sunday night. Sure will miss the money though.
I’ve requested 2 days off next week as well. As far as I know it hasn’t been approved yet. I’m going to use that time to get my house clean, catch up on sleep, get my car checked on (it’s been making a flutter-type noise), sleep, go see Greg, Mel, Micah, and the newly arrived Natalie, sleep, go visit Bana, mom and other family, sleep, go visit friends, did I mention sleep?
I probably won’t know what to do with myself.
Well that’s about all folks. Gotta go get ready for my next to last 12 for about a month. I’ll be back to posting more regular next week I hope.
